I did our cupboards this winter, though I'm still not done sanding them to distress them. I didn't use primer ~ I just made sure I sanded off the old finish, did 2 coats of the paint, letting them dry really well in between, then distressed, then put a non gloss finish on them. I would love some info about the pine counter top if you ever come across it, please let me know. I'm off to read more of your blog.<BR/>Pambasketsnprimshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07590982915533843331noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6798889372716037917.post-18200047833319588552009-03-02T18:24:00.000-08:002009-03-02T18:24:00.000-08:00I would love more info on the houses...and I love ...I would love more info on the houses...and I love your blog!Pattihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05539709436915345525noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6798889372716037917.post-45922126780372177482009-03-02T12:45:00.000-08:002009-03-02T12:45:00.000-08:00Love your blog!!Sounds like you are a very busy an...Love your blog!!Sounds like you are a very busy and talened gal. I just finished painting my kitcen cabinets and used Kiltz (odorless) oil based primer. The results are great! I had a dear friend years ago who put down heart pine countertops and they were beautiful and so "early american"!! I think the secret is the finish you would use. If you would like I could try to contact a family member to see if they might know what was used . The wooden spools would be so unique! Also, I have seen old spoons ad forks used on cabinets. Good luck..
