GREAT FUN DAY...

Gotta love those days that start out fun and end the same way! Soon after I opened the shop yesterday, fellow bloggers Janice and Bob from http://primsbythewater.blogspot.com/ stopped in for a visit. What a nice couple they both are! Can't wait to go to visit their shop sometime soon!

All of our stove/noodle boards had sold and we have been getting more in again. Of course black is ever popular, but I love the cobblestone color too.

These big gourd spoons are fantastic! Wouldn't they be great displayed with old covered bottles and bowls?

Have you ever seen corncob dolls? I have them hung on our tree and they are just precious little fillers.

More stitcheries are coming in as more go out. "The Old Door" is framed in an old window with a prim star and crow at the bottom.

We also have stitcheries mounted to old boards with rusty wire and Sweet Annie. They are a great alternative to frames.

After the shop closed, I hurried home and we took off to visit Earlene and Norm http://primitivepassiondecorating.blogspot.com/ and had the greatest time. Their house is TO DIE FOR!!! Everyplace you look is perfect prim heaven. I should have taken more pictures, but I was too busy looking. Is this just the coziest spot?

You wouldn't believe this pantry! It is a big walk-in and filled to the brim like a dream come true.

I know this pictures is DARK, but this mustard stepback is amazing. Love all of the shoflies along the front.

Who doesn't love shelves?

Earlene had left her two snowmen out so I could see them. It was love at first sight! What a great way to display them in the old wooden trencher.

And last, but not least, is the wooden box/spoon holder. I went crazy over this piece and have just the place to put one for me! Please Dick...
Anyway, we had Greek salad (delish) and pizza and the best conversation. It snowed like crazy and the roads were like a skating rink, but it was well worth the drive. Who doesn't need an adventure once in awhile? Thank you Norm and Earlene for a wonderful evening. (Now I've got to putz around our house - you inspired me!)

DOLLS, DOLLS, AND MORE DOLLS...

Thank you, thank you, thank you to all of our great customers that made our Superbowl Party such a success. We had such a great time and it was so much fun to see so many familiar faces. Suzanne only has one spot left in her rug hooking class, so if you're interested...
All of the dolls from The Funky Tennessee Artist are going fast, but she has assured me, she is down there in Tennessee sewing her fingers to the bone. This one MIGHT have to come home with me, we have two left. It is SOOOO prim!!! She is naked and has stenciling on her body.

This old girl is a hoot! She has a babooshka on her head and is holding a candle. Just as cute as can be!

This hanging angel is done in blue homespun, has wire glasses and angel vine wings. She would be adorable on a peg rack.
Keep watching because the next shipment will include some REALLY PRIM Easter goodies. The bottle dolls FLEW out of the shop, but more are on their way.

Okra For Sale! Love this one. She has really funky shoes, dried okra around her neck and teeth in her mouth.

Poor old Lizzie has corn cob arms and an old bottle attached attached to her dress.

I tried to get a better picture of our new pre-civil war jelly cupboard. I can't hardly stand to look at it - only because I want to bring it home SOOOOO bad! A friend of mine said she had dreams about it all night! It is probably my favorite piece of furniture that I have ever seen.

And how about you crow lovers? This round oak table is painted up just for you. Wouldn't it be adorable on a screened in porch???
Just wanted to let you know that we will be trying to get our selling blog up and running within the next week, but if you see anything you like, just call the shop. We will ship anything but furniture!

PRE-CIVIL WAR CUPBOARD AND MORE...

Good evening my friends. Dick and I have been SOOOOOO busy getting everything ready for our Superbowl Party at the shop tomorrow and we are both really excited with all of the new beyond wonderful prims that we put out tonight. Did you ever see a piece that makes your heart skip a beat? We got in the most beautiful pre civil war jelly cupboard. It is BIG and on tall legs with screen sides. (I'm sorry a lot of the pictures are kind of blurry, but I just had to share.) This piece is one of the nicest pieces I've seen in a very long time and I'm dying because I don't have room to bring it home.

The inside has so much display or storage space. The bottom shelf in one wide board, you can't even buy those any more!

And talk about unusual! How about this chuck wagon oven? So much cooler in person!

I'm going to give you a little sneak peek at a few little prim dolls from The Funky Tennessee Artist. These bottle dolls are just the best of the best! In fact, I even kept one for me!

The whisk broom dolls are adorable. They have dresses made from old feed sacks.

This tree has corn cob dolls hanging around it that are SO unique. That's all I'm going to show you for now, but there's lots more. Like I said, sorry the pictures are so blurry and bright.

Suzanne brought in samples of her beautiful hooked rugs, with more to come tomorrow. The work is extraordinary and I can't wait to take her class. She will be giving a demonstration tomorrow afternoon and registering people for the first class of eight.

There are rugs of all shapes and sizes. It's a joy to just look at all of them.

We have lots of new black dolls around the shop too. This one is a sweetie and comes with the little rocker she is sitting on.
Dick and I are busy cooking some yummies for tomorrow, we will also have a little wine to share. Hope you can make it in - there are more antiques coming in the morning!!! So, we're ready for a party with the best customers in the world.

THE BOX ARRIVED...

Another busy week at Holly Hills Primitives! We are getting ready for our Superbowl Party for Sunday from noon until 5 p.m. Is this burgandy bowl rack great or what? It can set on a counter or table and also has spindles for hanging towels.

A couple more prim dollies snuck in today. This one is quite long and has grubby socks and baby shoes on. She has a satchel around her neck with yarrow and sweet annie.

Another prim gal is here to sell her string beans. Her skirt shows quite bright in the pictures, but it is really a grubby mustard.

Today was also a special day for our Gannon. He turned 14 and I can hardly believe it! He is my heart of hearts and it just seems like the years have flown by. Happy Birthday first best boy!
Yippee!!!! The box arrived from The Funky Tennessee Artist today and you won't believe some of the great, REALLY primitive dolls she sent. Sorry girls, but I'm taking two of them home with me. They will make their entrance on Sunday for our party. I'll try to take some pics to share with you - if there are any left! Never fear, she is already working on the next shipment. Do you think maybe some bunnies could hop in that box??? We'll just have to wait and see.
Anyway, time for some sleep. I had a basil cell cancer taken off my face last week and tomorrow I can finally get the stitches out. HOORAY - they are driving me crazy!!! Have a great night my friends.

PRIMITIVE CUPBOARD AND BENCH...

Good evening my friends. Just returned from a little R&R at The Little House in northern Michigan and we're feeling much revived and ready to get on with our week.
We got this wonderful OLD glass-front cupboard in the other day and I WISH I had a place for it. I could just see my Hall tavern scene dishes inside. Oh well, I'm sure it will go to a very lucky homeowner soon.

How about this child's bench (on the floor)? It is over 8' long and so unusual. I've never seen one quite like it. I could just see it hung on a wall in a high-ceiling room for a coolest shelf!

Last Friday night was so much fun! Our Abbey was one of the orphans in the play "Annie". She was one of the youngest performers and the only one picked from her elementary school for the high school play. (SO, a grandma has a right to brag, right?) Jessica has become a big part of Ashley's family too and she played Annette the maid. They were both adorable.

Proud Ashley with both girls. She was in all of her high school musicals and choir and she cried as she watched her one little daughter perform with the same group of teachers.
Our Women's Superbowl Party is shaping up for Sunday. I just got word that a big shipment of dolls will be here from The Funky Tennessee Artist. I CAN'T WAIT!!! Be sure to come see them, because I'm sure they will fly out of the shop. From 1-3 p.m., Suzanne will be at the shop with her beautiful hooked rug samples signing gals up for the upcoming hooking class. I can't wait for that either - I'm going to take it too. From 3-5 we will have free "lip conditioning" and giveaways from Mary Kay. There will be lots of specials throughout the shop and a door prize drawing too. Come have some treats with us and, most importantly, some Superbowl fun!

BUNNIES ARE HOPPING IN...

Finally! The mustard blanket crane shelf is finally hung on the wall above the mustard dry sink and looks fantastic! Dick came in today and helped hang quite a few things and LOTS of new goodies were put out as well.

Another black shelf was hung today too. Oh how I wish it was hanging in my house!

I just couldn't wait any longer, so out came some of the spring wares. A few bunnies hopped in with their carrots and eggs.

We have a basket of the sweetest hand-painted gourd eggs.

Our Carol brought us the neatest old "feed" basket. It looks great filled with grass!

Who doesn't love new spring towels to brighten up the kitchen?

The potting bench is covered with all kinds of spring chicks.

These reproduction pull toys are fantastic! They really look like the real thing.

We even have white bunnies for you "shabby gals".

I got Dick to hang the wall desk and it is cute as can be. The front looks like shutters and just right for organization in your kitchen.

This small black cupboard would be a perfect end table for you crafters. Great storage for scrapbooking, knitting, stitching, rug hooking...

Speaking of stitching... These cat and bird pincushions would look great left out right next to your chair.

Old prim doll is a hoot. Flax hair and a patched foot to boot.
