WEDNESDAY FUN...
Wednesdays are always a day to look forward to each week. The shop opens back up, we generally have new goodies to share and our rug hooking class meets in the afternoon. This is Sue - our instructor - and her work is fantastic!!!
Pat is working on Christmas gifts - what a great idea!
Bonnie is doing a great job on a kit she bought at the rug show.
Missie is cutting noodles for Sheila.
And Sheila is THRILLED! Yup, we have a great group of gals and we all have so much darn fun.
Dick, Gannon and I had a ball at the Little House over the weekend. Our neighbors were up with their son that is Gan's age and another buddy. It was SOOO great to see those boys laugh and have so much fun.
Nothing like an up north campfire. Just think Connie, only 1 1/2 weeks and we'll be having one too!!!
Now it's time to get busy sewing and painting. Dick and I have tons to do before the Downtown Holly Antique Show on June 9th. Hope you're planning to come. Our own Funky Tennessee Artist will be there to greet you!
Until next time...

HOLIDAY WEEKEND AHEAD...
And the cars started rolling in! You know it's the beginning of summer when the Holly Car Cruise gets underway in May. Every Wednesday night some beauties head to town for all to see.
They line up on both sides of the street, down the middle and on two side streets.
The disc jockey sets up across the street from the shop and plays oldies all evening. Some people even dance in the street. Lots of fun is had by all!
This has been one crazy, busy week! We are so looking forward to spending some time up at the Little House after the shop closes on Saturday. Lots of good things are coming shortly. The Downtown Holly Antique Show is June 9th and our Funky Tennessee Artist will be with us for the entire day with a LOAD of new prim goodies for your shopping pleasure. "New" furniture will be in the shop, plus lots more. So here's hoping that you all have a wonderful holiday weekend. Let us not forget to say thank you to our veterans on this special day. Enjoy!!
Until next time...

BEAUTIFUL DAY FOR A PRIM SHOW...
Tent put up, truck and trailer unloaded, great prim goodies displayed, and now we're ready to meet lots of new people. The weather couldn't have been more beautiful and the surroundings were absolutely perfect for a prim show. Dick and I had a ball!
The sign out front sure drew in the crowds. Cars were parked up and down the roads everywhere!
Here we are ready to rock and roll!
Love bringing cupboards, but they are SOOOO heavy to load and unload.
We had a great spot, right under a big tree.
Our friend Earlene bought some great items throughout the show and then we had a chance to set and gab for awhile. She is just the best!
The grounds are just amazing! Jane and her husband have created such a unique shop and homestead. Old Mother Hubbard's shop is an old log cabin that has been moved to the property.
There's even an old covered wagon!
The old farmhouse just shouts out PRIM!
But, my favorite is the old tobacco stick fence out front.
Earlene and I still gabbing...
Doug's booth next to us.
A little walk around to see others.
Wish we would have taken more pictures of the booths, but we were just too darn busy!
One of the highlights of the day was meeting Atlas. Most of you know we have Rosie, a boxer, and we had a ball loving on this big guy. The show was amazing, we met so many new friends and customers and then it was over. After the show we stopped at Norm and Earlene's and she had a Michigan salad, chili and sherbet. What a treat!!! We went for a walk on their property, which is spectacular, and then it was time to head back to Holly to unload and turn in the trailer. Thank you Norm and Earlene! All in all it was a fantastic day. Now it's time to get back into the shop, put things back in order and great our Sunday customers.
Until next time...

Good beautiful morning my friends. Just couldn't wait to show you the new item we have in the shop! What prim home couldn't use a make-do settle? This one was a special order for our friend and will be delivered this weekend. In the meantime, it will be in the shop until Friday night if you'd like to take a look. We have already received more orders! Come on in and take a peek.
We have been working like crazy getting ready for the PRIMITIVE show at Old Mother Hubbard's this Saturday from 10-3. If you're a prim lover, you won't want to miss this one. There will be 15 vendors (including Holly Hills Primitives) and a lunch wagon on the grounds. The shop is an OLD log cabin that has been moved to her property. The address is 10460 Territorial, Munith, MI. Hope to see you there - the weather is supposed to be beautiful!
Until next time...

HAPPY MONDAY...
Good morning! What a beautiful Mother's Day we had and it looks like the weather is going to hold throughout most of the week. We started our day out early yesterday. Dick cooked breakfast for me, my mom, our daughter and daughter-in-law along with both of their families. What a nice treat! Our son Chad always heads out to the water when he gets here, he spent hours and hours out by the canal when he was a kid. Dick and Chad decided to get a fishing pole out and see what happened.
This was Lucy's first fishing experience and she loved everything about it! She helped dig the worms, reeled in the rod, and actually caught one little fish.
Abbey is an old pro! She can cast that pole like there's no tomorrow. (Don't you love a girl that fishes in a dress???)
Lucy got to see frogs, "turdlers", ducks, a musrat and was so excited that she just grinned from ear to ear!
I love spending time with these little girls, they are both so easy to take care of and they just love life!
We had to put Lucy's fish in a bucket for a little while and she named him Harold. What a sight to see her face when he jumped and splashed!
Gannon came back to us in the afternoon and Amanda brought Jack and Ellie to see us too. Dick, Gannon and I put the boat in the canal and went for a little ride. Of course we couldn't think of going without Gan's fishing pole!
Thank you Dick for a wonderful day and for all you do for your family every day.
Now it's reality check time and we need to work like crazy to get ready for the show at Old Mother Hubbard's this Saturday in Munith, Michigan. Come on you prim gals, you'll love it! So, Happy Belated Mother's Day!!!
Until next time...

CRAZY, FUN NIGHT...
Oh my goodness, at 4:30 the gals started lining up to receive their tote bags and then the fun began in earnest! The band "Fog" (four old guys) kept the spirits high in the streets. The drummer is our downtown mailman, so it was great to see him in a different light. The ladies poured into our village. Some danced, some shopped, some had a few cocktails, but they all had fun and so did we.
Our Zanie Janie neighbor that owns Simply Coffee had a great time dancing. She was a ballroom dance instructor in a former life and is even teaching Gannon to do the Foxtrot!
And then the "flash mob" started in the street and it was such a treat! Jamie Ross owns the Zumba studio down the street and her group did such an excellent job.
Talk about energy!!! (I could feel these old bones just watching these girls!) Thanks for a great show!
Our Gannon was our "carry out" guy. Since the downtown was blocked off, parking was at least a block away. He was thrilled to make $19.00 in tips!!!
I had several surprises throughout the evening. Two of my old classmates stopped in and I hadn't seen them in a LONG time. Then, the best surprise of the night, my old friend Mike was standing on the sidewalk. We haven't seen each other in over 20 years and I was thrilled. We go all the way back to 7th grade! Can't wait til he comes for lunch one day soon.
Now it's back to business. We have a full week ahead getting ready for the show at Old Mother Hubbard's in Munith, Michigan next Saturday. Thank you all for making Ladies Nite Out a success and so much fun!
Until next time...

LADIES NITE OUT - TOMORROW...
How I love our little village! All the shops have been very busy getting ready for Ladies Nite Out tomorrow evening (May 11) from 5-9 p.m. Some shops are having a theme and ours is a "Garden Party". The front of the shop is all done up with garden goodies and is just waiting for you go pick something up for your special Mom. The rest of the shop is as prim as ever.
We have bird baths, porch "art" and more.
Everywhere you look when you walk in is garden related.
We have some great stitcheries for Mother's Day and some unique summer door hangers.
Our little wheelboro is filled with hooked pillows and don't forget the great items in from The Funky Tennessee Artist. Aren't these make-do's fun???
This little green table and chair would be cute as can be on a front porch.
When you're done shopping, you can go next door and get a BIG cookie, coffee or other thirst quenchers and maybe even a hot dog. This cookie is almost as big as our Caroline's face! We will also be offering a service to carry packages to your cars by our Gannon. No matter what shop you are coming from, he'll be ready to help. The band "Fog" will be playing in the street right in front of our shop. Love to watch all the gals get out and dance. So if you want some fun, grab some girlfriends and head to Holly tomorrow night. Hope we see you!
Until next time...

CRAZY SUNDAY!!!
Wow, what a crazy Sunday afternoon we had at the shop. The main block of town was blocked off and it was FULL of motorcycles - everywhere! The "Hogs In Ministry" came into our little village, had a stage with a band, another singer, hot dog stands, gospel messages and everyone dressed in their full leathers. It was quite a sight to behold!
This event doesn't do much for our business, but it was interesting to witness. Every direction we looked were bikes, bikes and more bikes. The main street was full and so were some of the side streets.
We had big groups congregate in front of the shop, since the stage was at our end of the block. Guess you never know what else might pop up in our quaint little village!
Don't forget that this Friday night (May 11) from 5-9 p.m. is Ladies Nite Out!!! Such a great, fun event. We will also have a band out front, lots of the gals dance in the street. There will be treats everywhere, door prizes, discounts and lots more. If you're one of the first 300 gals, you will receive a tote bag with coupons. Come on out and have some girlfriend fun!
Time to get back to getting more things ready for our fun Friday night!
Until next time...
