THE WOOL ROOM...

What a fantastic day I had today! Friend Sally invited me to go to The Wool Room, owned by Diane Kamick in South Lyon, Michigan today. Her husband, Randy, graciously offered to watch the shop so I could go. (Thank you Randy!) To say it was fabulous was an understatement! Sally and Diane in the top picture and a view of her beautiful wools and patterns. Diane helped me pick some great wools and I can't wait to get started on my next project! When we pulled up to her gray ranch home, it was very cute, but when we walked inside - it was UNBELIEVABLE! I felt like I had stepped back to the early 1800's in New England! She was so nice to let me take some pictures, but they definitely don't do it justice. We're hoping that Diane will come visit our rug hooking group and get more acquainted! After work tonight, Dick and I headed over to watch our 8 year old grandson Jack in his talent show. He danced to Michael Jackson, had the entire outfit, and was adorable! What a way to top off the night. Now it's time to get some sleep so I can be ready for our Springfest Open House tomorrow morning! Hope to see you there. Until next time...

UPCOMING SPRINGFEST OPEN HOUSE...

It is definitely that time of year again! Time for all of the spring open houses and shows to be starting. I'd like to invite you to our 2013 Springfest Open House on March 23rd from 10-5 and March 24th from noon to 4. I am going to do a shop "redo" this week and lots of new goodies will be coming in before next weekend. There are still some great bunnies ready to find their new homes. Dick is been building like crazy over at the woodshop and coming up with some awesome creations! Lots more to be there by Saturday! And I'm sewing, painting and creating like a mad woman too! Also, mark your calendars for March 30th from 10-3. The Breckenridge Antique Show in Breckenridge, MI is the best primitive show in Michigan. I'm so honored that we are able to participate in this all prim show! Hope to see you at one place or another. Enjoy your Sunday evening! Until next time...

SUNDAY AFTERNOON...

March is upon us and we decided to open the shop on Sundays again today. It was so great to have a LITTLE warmer weather and some evidence of spring in the air. Dick has been very busy, and continues to be, building away some great new pieces for the shop. I'm so crazy about the new black shelf - had him put my name on the list! The red cupboards are adorable too! Lots of new goodies are popping up every week! The stitchery pockets would be adorable on a porch. The wax sleeves are beautiful and we will have them for each season. And, of course, more prim dolls come and go on a regular basis. I had a great surprise yesterday! One of blogger friends, Rene Leighty (Sew Many Raggedies) came into the shop with some friends. What a sweetie! It is always so much fun to put a face with a name. We ended our evening last night at the local Bittersweet Cafe, had dinner and listened to our very own Gary Musgrave play lots of favorites. So much fun! I've been hooking like crazy and can't believe how addicting it is! Be watching for some new ideas we have coming at the shop (they involved hooking). Well friends, it's time to go put my feet up and enjoy what's left of Sunday with my hubby. Hope you all had a great weekend. Until next time...
