FANTASTIC WEEKEND...

Good evening prim pals! Whew! What a whirlwind weekend we have had! My friend Tammy and her sister April picked me up Friday morning at 6:30 and we headed to Waynesville, Ohio. We shopped at the Wooden Sunflower, Old Glory, and Sawdust and Stitches and then headed over to Washington Courthouse to North Shore Primitives. We also went to Greenfield, Ohio to visit Tattered and Torn, another darling shop. After shopping, we headed to Mansfield, Ohio to check into our hotel room. We had so many laughs and so much fun and finally got to sleep so we could get up early to head to the Simple Goods show. Sorry I didn't get more pics on my camera, the rest are on my phone and I don't know how to get them to the blog. The show was absolutely amazing! The early goods were to die for! The vendors were fantastic! I went with a mission and you'll hear about that in just a couple of weeks. Keep watching - I promise it will be worth it! I brought back these PRIM crows for the shop - made by Too Far Gone and a bunch of long prairie bonnets made by Linda Stinson in Pennsylvania. Stop in and pick one up before they are gone! I finally got my rug hung over the fireplace today and love how it turned out. Now I've got to get my other finished up! I also added more bowls to the bowl rack - I just need one more! So much fun to putz, I just don't get enough time to do it! Well pals, it's time to get some rest. Lots more "planning" and sewing to do tomorrow. Remember, stay tuned!!! Until next time...

RUG HOOKING WEDNESDAY...

I always look so forward to our Wednesday afternoons at the shop. We have the best group of gals that come to rug hook! Just thought I'd share some of the projects from today. Bonnie did this gorgeous geometric design - drew it herself! She is also working on this adorable cat rug, can't wait to see it when it's finished! Sue "M" made this awesome purse, the pictures just don't do it justice! Sue "E" is working on this sheep. Just wait until you see the finished product! LOVE this bee that Pat is finishing! The texture is unbelievable. Think it's going on an old stool. My two latest projects still need to be steamed and bound. The rug is from a picture of my grandpa's old dairy barn and I plan on giving it to my mom for her 90th birthday present. The other one is a secret gift. Can't wait to come up with my next project. I've never done anything so fun before! Don't forget that we are offering a punchrug class at the shop on May 8th, taught by Teresa Kogut. Just call the shop for details. We have about 3 spots left. I am SOOOO excited! Leaving Friday morning for Waynesville, Ohio with my friend Tammy Jias and then to the Simple Goods show in Mansfield on Saturday. I've never been to this show before and I just can't wait to see it! Hope you all have a fantastic night and we'll talk again soon. Until next time...

BACK TO THE SEWING MACHINE...

Yup, today's the day to get creative again! Sometimes the ideas just flow and other days... I'm sure you have all been there. Nonetheless, it's time to get moving! We had a great weekend. Met lots of new customers at the shop, the sun finally came out yesterday, and we got to go see our Gannon at the hospital after work yesterday. He is absolutely my heart of hearts and I know a lot of you have met our handsome guy. He is such a help at the shop and shows. We junked out on Pringles, Slim Jims, and Cream Soda. Always hard to say good-bye though. My friend Barb and her family have opened a new, beautiful consignment shop on Battle Alley and their grand opening is this Saturday. The name of the shop is Treasure Alley Boutique Consignment. If you're in the area, stop in and say "hello". Happy to say that I don't need any more pain medication for my teeth now, my jaw still feels like somebody slugged me! Well prim pals, it's time to start cutting, sewing, stuffing, staining, painting... Until next time...

A FEW NEW GOODIES...

Well, round one is over at the dentist. Got two teeth pulled yesterday and today I feel like someone punched me in the jaw. Thank goodness that Dick went in and opened the shop for me this morning. I think I'm going to have another date with the couch this evening though. Just had to take some time and show you what we have waiting at the shop for you though. I'm crazy over this new dough box that Dick just finished. It has sawbuck legs and is coffee table height. This old farm tote is prim perfect! I want to bring it home with me. You can either stand it on end for little shelves or sit it down for a great tote. This old stool is another real goodie! I'm crazy about these bowl bags. They look so great with an old wooden bowl and spoons in them! This cubby/towel bar is also perfect for a kitchen or bath. I'm always looking for early candle holders and I'm crazy about these! Another great old blue cubby. These primitive canisters are new jars and can actually be used. Who doesn't love old red? This is actually a lot darker than it looks. Great towel/soap holder. I have one next to the kitchen sink and I love it! If you see anything that tickles your fancy, just give me a shout. I'll be at the shop all day tomorrow. Now it's time for some jammies and that date with the couch. Have a great evening! Until next time...

ANOTHER RUG HOOKING FIELD TRIP...

What a wonderful day this has been! Our rug hooking group went on a field trip to visit Lynne Kossarek at Never Enough Wool in Romeo, MI. OH MY! Her wool was just beautiful, and SO WAS HER HOUSE! She was gracious enough to let me take pictures to share with all of you. If you'd like to take a class or buy wool, get in touch with Lynn at lynnekossarek@gmail.com When we walked in she had the most beautiful wools spread out on tables for us in three different rooms. It was heaven. Her home was decorated period correct and just gorgeous! Our group had such a great time and we all came away with some beautiful wool and patterns. I saved the kitchen until last, I could have lived in there! When we left Lynne's, we dropped Sally off at her house and I'll save that for another post. Her house is TO DIE FOR! After I got home from the shop, I took Dickens for a walk in the back yard. I'm always so thankful to get up every morning and see the wildlife that lives on our little canal. But the biggest gift of all was that Dick had a body scan today and he is still cancer free! We'll talk again soon. Until next time...
