ANTIQUES, TALENT SHOWS AND BIRTHDAYS...

Good morning friends. Are you all ready for the weekend? I can't believe that we woke up to yet another batch of snow and we are supposed to have more tomorrow - at least a wintry mix. Come on spring!!!
I had to show you these darling little shoes we got into the shop. They are actually from the 1800's and are just adorable. They have little strings that tie around the ankle. I've never seen anything like them before!
We also got in some old art work. This one is Little Miss Muffet.
The verse on this picture is as sweet as it can be - all about a little boy's shadow.

Of course, who didn't love the old magazine covers?
And this oldie is Little Boy Blue and a peek at Jack In The Beanstalk. The frame is very old too and would be perfect for a nursery.
I can't wait for Sunday. We're going to pick up another load of antiques and hope to have everything settled in the shop before our open house on March 26th. Don't miss out!

Last night was just a blast! We went to the talent show at our Abbey's elementary school. She was the MC for the beginning of the program and then she did the finale song for the show. OH MY GOSH!!! I had no idea how she could sing! She absolutely brought the house down. She sang "Don't Rain On My Parade" and it was outstanding. I'm so proud of her, she's only in the third grade!
These pictures are pretty blurry, but she gave it her all with singing, dancing and dramatics!
All of the kids were adorable, but most were quite shy, sang very softly, etc. I think she is going to follow in her mom's footsteps. I was blown away!
Time for the final bow - great job kids!
And then there's daughter Ashley (in the red). She put her heart and soul into this program, she was the chairperson this year. The auditorium at this old high school is dear to her heart. She performed in all of the high school musicals and won the national choral award when she was a senior. Now she gets to experience the feeling of what it's like when it's her little girl up there! Sometimes us moms and grandmas get to have a few bragging rights - thanks for listening!
Yesterday was March 10th and also my son Chad's 42nd birthday!!! Doesn't even seem possible. His Kim's birthday is in 12 more days, so Sunday his inlaws (our very own Sharon from the shop) and us are taking them both to brunch. I'm so looking forward to spending some fun time together! Happy Birthday Chad! I love you.
Hope you all have a spectacular weekend and so something fun just for you!
Until next time...
