MORNING GLORY MERCANTILE...

What a fun day Dick and I had today! We went up to our Little House last night and decided to take a little adventure today. We drove over to Houghton Lake (in northern Michigan) and found Morning Glory Mercantile - and what a find!!! Shopkeeper Sandy greeted us at the front door (and she is so sweet). She graciously allowed me to take pictures of the shop for the blog - but my darn battery died on the camera just when I was getting started.
If you are ever in this area, this shop is a delight. It is chock full of the most darling handmades, antiques and more.

I am CRAZY for this window with the old wool picture - now I'm sorry I didn't buy it while I was there. Oh well, maybe the next trip.

These windows were also beautiful, filled with old doilys, buttons, music, fabric and more.
As a shopkeeper, it is always so much fun to find such a great shop. I always come away with my mind spinning and wanting to get back to work to create, create, create! Sometimes our minds get in freeze mode and visiting other unique country shops gets our juices flowing again.
The next three weeks are going to be so busy! I've got so much sewing, painting and stitching to do. The markets in Ohio are next week - oh boy - can't wait to get there. Loads of new antiques will be arriving and the whole shop is up for a redo for spring. But, I promise, it will all be ready by March 26 for our Spring Hoe Down Open House.
I'd like to thank Sandy for letting us visit and giving me just the inspiration I needed! Can't wait to go back SOON!
Until next time...
