BLESSINGS BY THE BAY...

Dick and I just returned from our two days of R&R at The Little House in northern Michigan. Yesterday we took a ten minute ride into East Tawas and I'm always in awe of the views of Lake Huron. We drove out to the Tawas Point Lighthouse and it looked so beautiful standing in the snow and surrounded by the chill waters.

We pulled over to look at the hiking trails (which we want to do this summer) and couldn't believe the sounds of the waves and wind coming off Lake Huron.

When I win the lottery, this is my future home. It is the old Coast Guard Station dormatory. It was all redone into a home and it is spectacular!!! I'm so happy that they left the historic integrity to the outside. How wonderful it would be to wake up to the view of the lake!

I couldn't get enough of looking at the open waters.

And as my grandchildren always tell me, "There's your favorite spot!" Yup, Tawas Bay! When we drive into town from our cottage, this is what we see when we get to the end of the road.
It's fun to visit lots of places in our great country, but there's something about Michigan and all it's beauty that will forever stay in my heart.
Hope you all had a great weekend too!
Until next time...

  2. I have a long lost friend who used to live in Tawas. Not sure if she still does or not as we have lost touch and I have heard she has re-married, once or twice even. It is beautiful north...nothing like it for sure!

  5. There's something uniquely majestic about the shores of the Great Lakes. My screen saver at work is a photo I took at Sleeping Bear Dunes. We haven't seen the east side of Michigan yet--maybe this summer! ~Roberta
