HAPPY OCTOBER 1ST...

Oh my goodness, it feels so great to have a day at home! We finished the Weekend In The Country show last night, got unloaded and returned the trailer. This morning I had to take my Rosie dog to the vet and now I have the rest of the day to clean, putz, cook... I should be sewing, but I really needed "a day". The show was wonderful and we're looking forward to next year. Got some pictures to share with you and a couple of surprises too!
I want to give you a little flavor of this HUGE show. As you came from the parking lot, there were tents everywhere!
The old Ellis barn was the "antique" barn, plus lots of tents with more oldies.
There were 3 full barns full of booths.
The entrance to our barn was so festive.
Plus pavilions!
WoJo's Nursery was there will spectacular mum plants, cornstalks, pumpkins and indian corn.
Took more pictures of our own booth too. We had a wall of stitcheries,
great make-do chairs,
bootle dolls and needfuls,
and scarecrows too. See previous post for furniture pieces.
"Cash and Cari" from HGTV was there with a repurposed booth.
Even her famous yellow truck was on display.
Several of our Holly shops also had booths. Arcade Antiques had 3 booths in the Ellis Barn.
Pigeon In The Parlour had both a booth inside and one outside.
My Sweet Holly was selling lots of "Made In Detroit" items. They were right behind us - and we had lots of laughs.
Our friends Peggy and Bob from Wren In The Willow were right next door. All in all, the show was lots of fun, very successful and HC Management put on a very smooth show.
Now for the surprise! Jann Turchi and Teresa Kogut have agreed to add some classes to our Cabin Fever series starting after the holidays. Both gals do such amazing work!
Teresa will be teaching punch needle and will offer kits and her own patterns. Wait til you see them!
Jan will be teaching needle felting. Her purses were exquisite! Be watching for more information - we might even get them to the shop for demonstrations during our Holly Dickens Festival. AND if any of you are traveling to Michigan for the Goultide Gathering, Holly Hills Primitives is only about 45 minutes from Northville. October 6th is the Downtown Holly Antique Show, so you have plenty to look forward to for your stay in Michigan. Hope to see some of you this weekend. Until next time...

  1. What a fantastic show, your booth looked amazing. Glad to hear you have a bit of time to yourself, I don't know where you get all that energy. I did not make it to the Walker Homestead Show, we had heavy rain both Fri, Sat, and Sunday. Also a 3 1/2 hour drive. Perhaps for their Christmas show. Enjoy your day, Blessings-Julie.
