CUSTOMER APPRECIATION...

Good Friday evening friends. It's late, but I wanted to get a few more pictures on of some great items that are arriving at the shop. Carol brought in the telephone stand and I painted it black and covered the seat with a stenciled burlap. Just love how it turned out! Wouldn't this be adorable with just the right accessories? I think I'm going to do a couple little burlap pillows to add to the back - unless it sells first!
I LOVE these candle jacks. You can adjust the height of the candles. I want to add battery candles as soon as my order arrives - they will look much more prim.

Oh yes, just what I had in mind!!! I sent this old thermos jug home with Sharon and she painted it and husband Jim made the handle stationary for a bird's perch. Isn't this the cutest birdhouse you've ever seen??? Can't wait to find more old thermos jugs now!
This make-do bunny is done on an old spindle and is holding a grubby egg. He's quite tall, has a ticking shirt and a burlap hat.
Just wanted to remind all of you that I will ship anything but furniture. Feel free to call the shop Wednesday thru Saturday for prices. (248/634-7040)
Dick and I went to babysit at Amanda's tonight for Gannon, Jack, Ellie and Caroline and I'm TIRED!! It's so much fun to spend time with all of them though and I wouldn't trade these times for the world.
If you're in the neighborhood tomorrow, Holly Hills Primitives is having a Valentine's Customer Appreciation Day with 20% off your entire purchase - except for jewelry. What a great way to save on some of these great new wares that are coming in. Hope to see you there!!
Until next time...

FUN DAY AT HOLLY HILLS...

Oh my, the great antiques are coming into Holly Hills Primitives as fast as I can put them out! This original Currier and Ives print is so sweet and perfect for springtime decorating.
I have a thing for old tin toys and this old typewriter is adorable!

A new stitchery with my favorite verse hangs over our "fireplace" at the shop.

The back of this old star mold is copper and I've never seen one before. Inside is a bakelite phonograph cleaner (for records).
Our nesting box is filled with all kinds of old goodies. Lots of green and red handles utinsels!

Are these bunnies sweet or what??? Perfect for the "white" decorating gals!
Along with these candy container Easter eggs.
Candle warmers make such a great gift and are such a safe way to smelly up your house!

These cute little tart warmers are another great gift - maybe Valentine's???

Need a bench (got a piano). This would be cute in any room with storage inside the bench. I have LOTS and LOTS more coming in the next week or so - keep watching!!!
We had a ball at the shop yesterday. Gannon came to work with me. He told me that since he is now 13, he should be able to answer the phone and have a little more "responsibility". Fine with me!! He loves to go over to Zanie Janie's and play games with her. Have you ever seen the game "Headbanz"? It is hilarious. They had the whole coffee shop in stitches.
Aunt Ashley came to pick up Gannon in the afternoon and took him to Abbey's talent show tryouts. She is singing "Rockin' Robin" in the show and Gannon snapped this picture of her at rehearsal. She was so excited that her "big cousin" was there, she even got him up there to sing. He said he was really embarrassed - but he loved every minute of it!!!
Well my friends, time to get ready to open the shop, put out more wares and have some Friday fun! The weather here is FRIGID - about 0 this morning!!! Hope you are all doing whatever makes you happy.
Until next time...

AND THE WARES KEEP ARRIVING...

Welcome back to the shop. We've finally got the new booth filled up, so now it's time for the shop to get filled up for spring. There's still a few Valentine's items left filling the sleigh.
Bunnies, chicks and carrots are coming in too. Can't wait for the rest to arrive!

We've been collecting lots of stools for you to add to your stool stack.

This old child's tool chest lid would be a great "art" piece on a wall, and the old Gold Dust box would be adorable in the laundry room.
Closer look at the tool chest lid.
Anybody up for prim pillows? One old crow and a smaller one with the word "crow" on it. The old rocker has a stitchery covering the seat - so prim.
This old grain painted dresser is wonderful. It has three big drawers and two smaller drawers on top. It would even be the greatest as a kitchen piece to store your pots and pans and utinsels in.
Our "baby" section is quite romantic. Old white clothes, quilts, baby pictures, shoes... Is there anything cuter?
More spring pillows - prim as can be!
This funky black "farmer's market" doll has a pocket filled with a chick and eggs. She has a key for a nose and corn cob arms.
The "Gatherings" doll is another cutie. Her legs are wrapped in old stained socks and she has a bag of "sticks".
Her nose is a needle and she has flax hair.
Big old Harriet bunny with her baby. She has "dirty" old socks and floppy ears.
Hope you can come in and see what's new at Holly Hills Primitives. Things are coming in like crazy right now - including furniture, handmades and new items. I'm getting so excited for March, time to go to the markets again.
Well prim pals, have a great night and I'll try to share a few more pictures tomorrow.
Until next time...

NEW BOOTH ITEMS...

What a wild day! Carol brought LOTS of new goodies to the shop, we priced, packed, painted and more for both the shop and the new booth. We made a mad dash to Howell to add more and more wares to our new booth. We wanted it to be ready for the weekend shoppers! Above you can see the "strawberry lug" with the cartons still intact. Also the little child's "dolly" would be adorable to set a nice pot of geraniums on.
This make-do child's chair is so cute. It folds up and you can put it anywhere.

Talk about PRIM! I'm crazy about this old "washer". Wouldn't it be the best in a laundry room?

We will be adding lots of new prim pillows, but this is a start for spring.

Another oldie is the bench. It has a candle holder attached to one end.
The pie safe is filling up with lots of smalls. Does anyone collect Calument cans? We have them in all sizes.
Another cute child's folding chair, old hangers and the best old box.
Be sure to stop out and see our new booth (#145) and have some fun. There will be tons of new items in the shop soon too. They are arriving on a daily basis. Be sure to mark you calendars for February 26 for our P.J. Party and shop hop.
Well friends, this old gal is tired out. Time to put on some jammies and just sit and do a little stitchin'.
Until next time...

YUP - WE GOT IT TOO...

Snow that is! So far we have about 8-10" and it's coming down like crazy! I just shoveled off the patio and swept off my poor little VW. I feel so sorry for Dick, he can't get out there with his broken leg to snowblow, so we've got a plow coming soon.
The top of the grill is piled high! Guess I better clean it off in case we lose power - heaven forbid! Got the wood all hauled up to the woodbox so we can keep warm if it happens.

The old bike basket is dripping icicles. This is going to be a great day to stay home, try to finish up some sewing and maybe get more started. My pile is growing for the shop! It's kind of hard to get your head around bunnies with this kind of weather though!!!

Last night (before the storm started) we ventured over to daughter Amanda's house for our special Gannon's 13th birthday. Seems like yesterday that he popped into this world! I wasn't going to go, but he said he couldn't believe that I wouldn't come for his birthday. The roads were still dry when I left and two hours later it was horrible driving home. There isn't much I wouldn't do for my big guy though.

Happy Birthday sweet Gannon (and many more). We got him a sport watch, a Johnny Cash cd, and I hope to take him to TN this spring to visit friend Connie for the rest of his gift. He can't wait to take the VW and put the top down and do some "cruising" in the warm weather (me too). He has always had a special connection with Connie and he can't wait to see where she lives now and do some exploring in the south. Warm weather and good roads can't get here soon enough!
I hope the rest of you are keeping warm, still have your power, stay off the roads and just enjoy a cozy day at home.
Until next time...

SURPRISE...

Time to unveil my new surprise. Holly Hills Primitives has decided to expand and open a booth at the Livington Antique Outlet in Howell, Michigan. My good friend and antique buddy Carol and I decided to join forces and resources and take the plunge. We have had so much fun painting, planning, making and more. We have started moving in and it's all coming together with each load we take.
We have a nice corner booth and are on the waiting list for the booth next to us - if it ever comes available.

We have LOTS more work to do, more goodies to haul and things to make, but at least this is the beginning.
Our booth is a little unique. We have antique, new and handmade wares for sale.
Still looking a little empty, but it will all finish coming together soon.
Have you ever seen one of these? It's an OLD wire hoop to go under a skirt with the spring "bustles" attached. So unique.
This child's stepback is adorable. Could be used in any room and not just for children!

This little make-do chair is another cutie.
The best ever are these old children's canvas boots. Wouldn't they be great in just the right spring arrangement?
Mama's Reading Chair and Listen' Stool.
Great, large blanket crane with old (never used - still with label) muslin sheets.
Hope you stop by when you're in the area. I think I'm going to love having a booth along with the shop and the antique mall is HUGE!
Now it's back to reorganizing the shop, sewing and ordering lots of new spring goodies.
Mark you calendars for Saturday, February 26 from 8 a.m. until noon. We are doing a shop-hop with Wren In The Willow (Goodrich, Michigan) and you have to wear your p.j.'s for any discounts. More to follow!
Have a good Sunday evening my friends.
Until next time...
