SEWING DAY...

Oh boy, do I have some goodies for you tonight! Terry is our little creative genious! She just keeps bringing more and more goodies that are just prim perfect for your Halloween decorating needs. My postcard artist - Cristy - brought me a bunch of antique Halloween postcards today. They are so beautiful! Most of them have both sides of the old postcard, she glitters them just perfect and then solders them. Just wonderful! $19.95

This was work day at the shop. I sewed, turned and stuffed quite a few dolls, now the fun part will start. I love how their personalities start coming out as they go together. I got such great ideas on our trip to Ohio and brainstorming with my friend Connie - now I want to see some of these things come to "life". She's way ahead of me, she's been sewing for two weeks!! Sure wish we were doing this together like the old days.

My Abbey came down and hung out with me for awhile today. She is quite the "helper" at the shop and I love to have her come whenever she wants to. It's also a good excuse to get a great ice cream cone!

Well girls, time to go look at some cars. My lease is up and I've got to get something different. I want a "bug" SOOO bad, but it sure isn't very practical for a shopkeeper. Oh well, I can always dream!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ABBEY!

What a big day today is! Abbey's 7th birthday! I can't even imagine life without her, or what it was like before she became a part of this family. What a special, delightful, beautiful little girl she is. She decided that for her birthday tonight she wanted to have Chinese for dinner, so her family came to the car cruise and we had Chinese at the shop. The DJ at the car cruise called her over and gave her a coupon for a Dairy Queen cake! After we closed the shop, we had to go to Carry's Delights for a little ice cream - YUM! Abbey in her new "teenage" outfit!

The other day, Abbey went to our Terry's house to play with her little girl - Shey. When we went to pick up Abbey, Ashley let Shey hold Lucy. She had never held a baby before, so it was quite a new experience and so precious. Shey and Abbey had a ball! Terry helped them bake cookies and the danced to CHRISTMAS music while they were baking.

Tonight Dick and I went to meet with the contractors that will be working on our new "home". They have the entire space "gutted" and will be starting construction on Sunday. If all goes as planned, we will be ready to paint and carpet in about a month. Can't wait for the partitions to go up so we can get a better idea of what furniture we are going to take with us. This is going to be quite the adventure and we hope to make our new home prim perfect!

Work was so much fun today. Debbie came to spend a good part of the day and then Terry came with more goodies and spent the rest of the day. She is bringing more tomorrow! I had lots of business - which is always fun - and met lots of new customers. I hope to have more pictures of shop wares tomorrow to share with all of you.

BUT for tonight, I'm ready to snuggle up with my p.j.'s and get some rest. Sleep tight and have good prim dreams.

Happy Friday evening gals! I ended up staying until 7:30 tonight, because the Holly Hotel had a blue's festival and bar-b-que in the street and tomorrow night they are having a clam bake. It is so festive, they have big white tents set up in Battle Alley and you can hear the music around the corner. After I left the shop, Dick and I finally had a chance to go out to dinner and spend a few minutes alone. It was a much needed break!
Just adding a few more wares I have in the shop and will try to have more tomorrow. Terry has another whole load ready for pick up tomorrow morning! I swear, that girl is like a little machine! I tried to get a better picture of this beautiful, prim dry sink. It is SOO unusual and wonderful. Wish I had a corner that it would fit in!

I'm so thrilled! Our daugher-in-law Kim's mom has agreed to work Sunday afternoons for me for awhile. It is going to be such a relief to have Sunday AND Monday off to get some things accomplished! There is SOOOOOO much to do before we are ready to move.

SHOPPED OUT...

Hi prim friends! Finally back from our trip and putting everything out at the shop. What a wild 4 days I've had! I met my friend Connie in Waynesville on Thursday morning and we never stopped until we left on Sunday morning. We just had the best time, but I have to say that I was DONE shopping by Saturday night! You better grab a glass of iced tea and settle in, because I have LOTS of pictures to show you. We saw these concrete pumpkins in Waynesville and they were SO neat. Our Terri is going to try to make some for the shop.

Then we went right to Jailhouse Primitives to see our friend Melissa. What a treat! We shopped in her 75% off sale, visited for a little bit, and she gave us a tour of her home. It is absolutely a prim-lovers dream come true. Thank you for sharing Melissa, what a great time. Her arbor was just the best, made from old french doors and shutters.

Then on to Washington Court House, Ohio to North Shore Primitives. All I can say is "WOW!" Just gorgeous prims.

This shop is decorated inside and out, upstairs and down with just wonderful everything!

After we left the shop, we stopped at the outlets and did a little shopping for ourselves. THEN back to Waynesville.

Friday morning we got up and hit it for Columbus to the Heritage show. what great things we found there! (Of course I have to keep some of the goodies for me.) After the show we went to the warehouse sale at Raghu and then to Springfield, Ohio to the Country Gathering show. There were wonderful prims there - but the prices were sky high.

Saturday morning we headed back to Columbus to the Offinger show and bought LOTS more. Do you think Connie looks like she's had enough shopping? Then back to Waynesville to do the town and check out all the shops there.

We spent Saturday night drawing patterns, copying each other's verses for stitcheries and just gabbing and relaxing. Sunday morning came all too soon and we were both off to Michigan and Tennessee. Thank you Connie for the bestest weekend!

While I was gone, Terri went SHOPPING too! We got LOTS of new antiques for the shop and we had to have our hubbies help move the furniture for us. When I went into the shop this morning, I couldn't even walk through it was so full. Thank goodness Debbie and Bonnie came to help most of the day and then Terri brought more!
