What a fun day I had yesterday! My good friend Bonnie got to our house a little after 7 a.m. and we headed straight to Ohio. We were on a mission to find some new goodies for the shop and our "Evening In The Country" event on Friday night. We talked and laughed and finally filled the back of the car. We stopped along the way at some country shops, but didn't find anything too prim to see on this trip. BUT, at the Homestead shop behind Jeffry's Antiques in Findley, was well worth the stop! They had all of these little "houses" with brick pathways that were fantastic! I just fell in love with the back "porch" on this one and can't wait to do the same thing outside of our doorwall. I wanted to take lots more pictures, but MY BATTERY DIED!
Can you see the little hanging swing? I remember having one of those in our walnut tree when I was a little girl.
The other porch had this great old shutter screen keeping the sun away from a cool place to rest. The whole little village was a cute as it could be!
We decided we need to get t-shirts made up that say "picker chicks"! We had lots of fun and now its time to sew, sew, sew today!
Tomorrow I'm going to add our new goodies to the shop and get everything in order for Friday night. Hope you can come have some fun with us and eat your dinner under the tent!
Until next time...

Yes...nice shop...there is another called Early American Home that is not too far way (near the University) that you would enjoy. You will have to check it out the next time. I shop at both places often. Blessings, Dianntha
ReplyDeleteI love that group of shops in Findley! Last year, when Sheila, Julie and I went to the Country Living Fair, we stopped there and took a picture on the porch with the shutters. Isn't the round chicken coop out back the cutest? Love that place.
ReplyDeleteOh why did that battery die! That looked like so much fun! I bet there were a lot of great ideas there. So ald the day was fun and you got some treasures!!

Wish I could have gone with you and been one of the "Picker Chicks"...hmmmmm...we might have had to play rock, paper, scissors for some of the goodies though !!
ReplyDeleteLove the Village, esp. those shutters...are they still there or are they now in your shop. Believe I would have brought those home. Love the name Picker Chicks. (millstonemercantile)
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had a fun trip to Ohio!! I used to do a craft show in Findley years ago...how did I not know about the little houses with the brick walkway. Adorable!! Think I might have to make another trip up there sometime.
