THANKSGIVING EVE...

Just wanted to pop in and see how many of you were scurrying around today preparing for tomorrow's feast. Are you setting a beautiful table? I hope you have your little white lights lit and are listening to some beautiful music and taking a deep breath once in awhile. Remember, we are all supposed to ENJOY these special days.
Today is going to be a busy day at the shop. More deliveries should arrive - hooray! I'm hanging our cedar roping, moving around a little furniture and taking in new handmades. Friday night is our village tree lighting and then the Dicken's Festival starts on Saturday. It's all fun! Isn't Christmas just the most magical time of year? Our little town looks like a fairytale at night. The white lights glow, the shop windows are wonderful this year and there is a dusting of hope in the air.
How many of you are braving the Black Friday sales? Dick and I did that once and, I have to admit, we did have a lot of fun. Don't think I'm up for it this year though.
Are you having Thanksgiving at your own homes this year? Ours is going to be quite small, all the kids have plans with their "in-laws" and will pop in for dessert a little later. Dick and I are cooking with Mom and then taking some goodies to the nursing home to spend time with Dad. I just can hardly stand the thought of him being there on Thanksgiving. Last year we were able to take him out for the holidays, but this year is a different story. Please, please don't forget our elderly during the holiday season. Now it's our turn!
Well friends, I hope your Thanksgiving is filled with joy, hope, love and happiness. Here's to you and yours!
Until next time...

  1. I am making several dishes today to make tomorrow easier on me tomorrow. You know how the leftovers taste even better? Well that is my theory anyway. Enjoy your site very much. Happy Thanksgiving.

  5. Hi Dawn,
Wanted to let you know that my doll arrived this morning. I just love her!! Going to post pics on my blog after Thanksgiving.
Making pies and slow cooking a pot of green beans today. We are going to my parents tomorrow...only 10 of us this year. We usually have 18 there but some couldn't make it in from out-of-state this year. I'm sure we will be talking with them on the phone while there.
    Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
    hugs,
    ~Cindy~

  6. Hi Dawn, I am indeed scurrying around getting ready and dealing with some of my folks medical issues as well. Makes for an "interesting" day! But I am thankful they will be at our table tomorrow. Lili and her mommy and daddy are going to the inlaws but coming for dessert later but my daughter and boyfriend will join my folks and David and I for dinner. A smaller crowd for us this year too.

Enjoy your day - I know it is hard to know your dad can't come home. Sending big hugs your way!!
