SUCCESSFUL WEEKEND...

Good Monday morning friends! Just wanted to pop in and wish you all a late Happy Mother's Day! This was one crazy weekend. We had our Ladie's Nite Out on Friday night - in the middle of a hail storm! Lots of women braved the elements anyway and we had a full house and lots of fun. Daughter Ashley did an outstanding job with our food. She made pasta salad with edible flowers, brownies with edible flowers and her cake was the hit of the evening. She did a beautiful "garden" cake that everyone raved over. Two women even took her number to do cakes for them - including the Fenton Garden Club. I was so proud of her, I just had to post pictures of it for you to see. Sharon made a yummy cheeseball (with a little hint of brandy) and did a painting demonstration and my friend Bonnie saved me! She came in the afternoon to help me finish up with getting the shop ready and then came back to help with customers during the evening. I just want to tell everyone that helped that I appreciate them all so much.
The cake had tiny clay pots and garden tools, rocks (that were really gum) and was just beyond precious!
It also had "plastic" grass all around the outside edges.
This as our little buffet and it was a hit! Our tractor help carmel apple candy corn and it was supposed to be our mulch!
Over the course of the weekend, lots of old and new customers came to visit and lots of things went out the door. You know what that means! Time to go on the hunt again.
My Mother's Day was a little different this year. My brother-in-law Bill is here from Florida to paint our old house, so Dick helped him all day yesterday. I got to keep Abbey and Lucy Saturday night - it was Lucy's first sleepover (and I didn't get much sleep). Ashley and Tony visited Sunday when they got back from their little trip. Chad and Kim came over to bring me a beautiful hanging basket and homemade candy (yummy) and to visit and then I took Mom up to spend the afternoon with Dad. When we got home, Dick cooked us a great steak dinner on the grill!
Well girls, better get some work done this morning. Time to sew and create again and fill that shop back up with new goodies.
Hope you all had a wonderful day and we'll talk again soon.
Until next time...
